The Diva Gets Sued

After being accused of being a "Diva Grinch", Beyonce Knowles is being sued for $100 million.

She supposedly ruined Christmas 2010 for employees of Gate Five because she demanded more money to appear in the dancing game, Star Power: Beyonce.

"It was a very shocking and disappointing turn of events that no one saw coming, and now we're all trying to pick up the pieces." says Gate Five CEO Dareh Gregorian. Beyonce's Representatives have nothing to say about the case as of yet.

She apparently forced over 70 employees into unemployment a week before Christmas. The game was going to come out in Christmas, 2011, but the game was scrapped.

Beyonce's dad says "Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and I am very proud of who she is and all she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success."

Video Games In The Operating Room

A group of Toronto surgeons from the Sunnybrook Hospital are using the Xbox Kinect in their hospital. When I first heard about this, I thought they were using it as training tools, but that is not the case... They use it to insert information in the computer without touching their mouse, which makes sense. With this they save hours in surgery.

“What this was able to do is take away that last barrier and remove the mouse, remove the interface . . . and now I just give it hand signs,” said Dr. Calvin Law, a surgical oncologist. “We’re able to control the computer without actually touching anything.”

Sniffing Out the Good Games

Look at these attractive things.

At the GDC (Game Developer's Conference) this week, two different companies (Sensory Acumen and Scent Science) showed off their products. Using a USB port and individual cartridges, these babies can put scents into the air depending on what's going on in the game.

But what if your playing Left 4 Dead or something. Ummm... Zombies smell good. And would this mean there will be sections of video game stores devoted to scent cartridges now? Either way, they cost between 60$ and 70$ US.

Let Us Go Kiss Bowling, Honey!

Probably one of the more stupid ideas of the year is the "Kiss Controller". Here is how the thing works. Someone wears a headset and another puts a magnet one their tongue. The two kiss and the different tongue movements and such control a ball as it goes down a bowling alley so it hits the pins. Would you try it?
